Report Detail: |
|
While chasing the T32C DXpedition this week on RTTY, I notice some odd sound
on the transmit audio. It sounds like a voice signal overlaid on the tones.
I've noticed it mostly on 40 meters. I recorded some on the FS wave recorder, and I hope I can attach it to this report. If not, let me know where to send it.
If you listen on LSB with the bandpass filter opened to 3.3k to get a good wide
mix, you can hear a "hmmm" or some such on the audio. This isn't on every transmission, but on most. It's not presented at the same time either. Some times it's at the start, others middle, others the end.
I also notice what appears to be a transmit spur on the low side, beyond the passband that's displayed.
I'm using MMTTY for the modum. VAC 4.09. VSP Mgr.
I can't see how to copy and past the .wav file, so please let me know how.
Thanks
Brian

The description sounds like what happens when using the Demo mode of VAC. Is this possibly the issue?
You may also want to test this using the most recent PowerSDR release (v2.2.3).
